One of the methods the application use to transfer data from the android device is via a FTP server. The application can download or upload data files and reports.
If you have a configured FTP server somewhere, all you need to know is the server name, a directory name, the username and password. All of this information must be saved with the 
screen. The directory name item is just used for organizational purposes. Uploading all your files to the same directory will make it very cluttered after a while. With the directory setting you can organize your data by just creating more directories when required and changing the setting in the setup screen.
If you do not have a FTP server, you can install a ftp server on your PC. The best program that I know of is FileZilla from this location. (If your FTP server is located elsewhere, you can use the FileZilla Client to access your data / reports from this server.) Having the FTP server on your PC is very convenient because the files are available immediately on your PC. Setup instructions can be found on the FileZilla website.
